Cashmere Avenue School is located in the heart of Khandallah, in the sunny hills of North Wellington. We were tasked with modernising the schools brand identity to align with their vision and values. The new logo reflects the schools pride of place – nestled between Mt Kaukau (the schools moanga) and the Wellington harbour. The sun is symbolic of the aspirations of the students, striving to reach their full potential.
We created a bold, engaging and fun visual system that is meaningful to the school – reflecting teaching and learning themes such as creativity, curiosity, diversity and collaboration. Custom badges and stickers were designed so that teachers could reward students for behaviour that demonstrated the schools values.
As part of the brand refresh we brought their five school capabilities to life with a Tui mascot, inspired by drawings that the students came up with when asked what the school means to them. The Tui characters have become an important teaching tool in the classroom to help explain the schools way of learning. The new school branding has been embraced by teachers, students and their whānau – creating a sense of belonging and setting the school up for the next 15 years of student success.
