Exposure 2012

Exposure is the annual graduate exhibition, showcasing the work of emerging artists and designers from the Massey University College of Creative Arts. We were tasked with creating a new visual identity for the exhibition and a year book to mark the occasion.

Over the years we have established the ‘X’ as the defining mark for Exposure. Our concept reinterprets the ‘X’ graphic as a bold, mesmerising pattern inspired by optical art. The pattern plays with the foreground and background relationship to give the illusion of movement and has high visual impact when tiled.

The visual identity reflects the multi-sensory experience of the end of year exhibition.

The 270 page student yearbook showcases graduate work in disciplines ranging from Fashion to Digital Media, Industrial Design to Fine Arts. We applied the X pattern throughout the book and created a series of infographics to illustrate Massey’s position as New Zealand’s leading creative tertiary provider.
